Library: Medications: Androcur

Submitted 7/29/2004 by Naomi:

Medication name: Androcur, 50mg

Patient information leaflet (Note: We do not guarantee the accuracy of the information in this document.)

242 doses of 50mg cyproterone acetate (androcur) per pill, taken whenever, once a day. I love this medication, though it costs a fortune unless your insurance covers it. Without insurance, my dose (100mg, or two pills daily) would cost nearly $2 a pill. I started at 50mg and had my T levels go down tenfold within 2.5 months. Note that the sudden drop in testosterone caused a month-long depression in me, but BOY it was worth it!
